After praying the Angelus and giving his reflection today, 25 October 2020, at St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis announced the nomination of Capiz Archbishop Jose Fuerte Advincula, D.D. to the College of Cardinals.
This means that he would be raised to the rank of cardinal at a consistory scheduled for November 28, 2020.
Archbishop Advincula
Archbishop Advincula was ordained priest of Capiz, Philippines on April 14, 1976.
He was appointed Bishop of San Carlos on July 25, 2001, and was consecrated on September 8, 2001.
On November 9, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI elevated him to Archbishop of Capiz replacing retiring Archbishop Onesimo Cadiz Gordoncillo.
